EBI continues to stand out in its environment and field.
On March 22nd, the ceremony took place as part of AMERICANA. The ceremony aims to recognize Québec excellence and environmental expertise. During the event, organized by the Réseau Environnement, EBI earned not one, but two major awards among the applause of its peers.
The Jacques Gaudreau Prize aims to recognize a company or corporation for its contribution to the improvement and sound infrastructure management in residual materials operations. Tied as winners with the City of Beaconsfield, EBI was honoured for its implementation of cutting-edge technologies aiming to improve the overall quality of recovered materials at its Joliette sorting centre. It is worth noting that last fall, EBI invested over $3M in modernizing its sorting centre, which has become of the most sophisticated and technologically advanced centres of its kind in Québec.
EBI also received the Cœur Vert Distinction, awarded to an innovative company in human resources management. In its application package, EBI had submitted all occupational health and safety actions completed during the modernization process of its sorting centre.
Furthermore, the company’s application highlighted the significant changes observed since the sorting centre’s reactivation with its new equipment.
This upgrade helped improve the work conditions and environment, two elements essential to good human resources management.
At the same time, the automation helped reduce health and safety incidents at work, such as cuts to the hands.
EBI would like to thank its employees, who are at the heart of its accomplishments and who, through their hard work and dedication, have contributed to the company’s success for over 55 years.
