The EBI Golf Open passes the half-million mark!

Visuel Omnium19

It was with a smile and pride that EBI management, represented by Pierre Sylvestre, President, and René Sylvestre, Vice-President, handed over the funds raised during the 19th EBI Golf Open – Helping Youth tournament today. Thanks to the generosity of participants and sponsors, we have been able to raise an as-yet unparalleled amount of $48,130 or close to $10,000 more than the previous year.

On August 14, more than 210 golfers took to the links of the Club de golf de Berthier. That evening, close to 250 participants answered the call to support and contribute generously to the cause of the area’s youth. They enjoyed a festive meal accompanied by a magic and comedy show that brought laughs and smiles to all.

“With today’s donation, the tournament has officially given out more than half a million dollars to youth organizations and associations in the region, making this a milestone year!” explained an emotional René Sylvestre. In fact, over the past 19 years, $503,100 has been awarded to young Berthierville residents.

Happiness through sharing!

Thanks to the generosity of participants and our precious sponsors and donors, close to $50,000 was raised and was shared today among the following organizations, associations and individuals:EBI Golf Open

New collaboration

The organizing committee of the EBI Golf Open chose to go even farther and join forces for the 2015-2016 school year with the Course à la persévérance scolaire (stay in school race) at École secondaire Pierre-de-Lestage by awarding them financial assistance of $4,000. This activity, which began two years ago in the context of the 200 km de cœur event, is intended to encourage young people to stay in school through physical activity. The program allows young people to meet a challenge, as well as develop a feeling of belonging, increase their self-esteem, favour their academic success and contribute to promoting healthy lifestyles.

The funds awarded today will no doubt allow for an improvement of services for young people and also help children in need.

EBI management and the members of the organizing committee would like to thank those who contributed to the success of the event, whether as sponsors, partners, players or donors.

Looking forward to seeing you again during the 20th edition of the EBI Golf Open – Helping Youth!
