For the 20th year, the EBI Golf Open has brought joy and good spirits while raising funds for those in need. In its new facility, EBI management, represented by Pierre Sylvestre, President, and René Sylvestre, Vice-President, gave away the $50,000 generated in the context of the EBI Golf Open – Let’s Help Our Young People held on August 12.
“The generosity of our participants and sponsors allowed us to shatter the fundraising record that we set last year. At a time when golf tournaments struggle to recruit participants, we can definitely say that the Open is more than holding its own.”
– René Sylvestre, Vice-President of EBI
The cause, without a doubt, but also the fun nature of the event and the fact that the Open hosts an artist each year. This year, participants enjoyed a show by comedian Stéphane Fallu, which proved a great success.
The organization would like to thank its loyal partners and participants who make each edition an across-the-board success. Thanks to their involvement, participation and assistance, $50,000 was given out to the following organizations, associations and individuals:
This edition both marks the end of two decades and confirms a substantial need for the community. Accordingly, EBI management and the organizing committee are pleased to announce the return of the Open next year for a 21st edition.
Two decades ago now, a more than laudable idea was born: organize a golf tournament to raise funds for local youth. As such, in 1996 the first edition of the EBI Golf Open – Let’s Help Our Young People was held, with around $4,000 raised for a youth project.
Since then, interest in the event definitely has not waned, quite the contrary in fact! Meanwhile, the needs of youth organizations have grown constantly, The Open has continued to develop, raising more and more funds for the community year after year. More than $553,000 has been raised over 20 years.
