Canadian Environment Week 2017 will take place from June 4 to 10, with the theme “Connecting People to Nature.”
This thematic week aims to remind us that we must take care and work to conserve and protect our natural environment. Citizens from across the country are invited to discover their natural surroundings and recognize its benefits, if only by appreciating clean air and water and a healthier ecosystem. Canadian Environment Week is a reminder that everyone can do their part to improve the health of the planet.
Canadian Environment Week is held annually during the first week of June. It coincides with World Environment Day on Monday, June 5. This year, Canada will be hosting the day organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). Among the important elements on which UNEP wishes to focus during this thematic day are:
