A new generation of service stations

EBI Énergie, Crevier Group, and Énergir launch a new generation of service stations with the participation of Electric Circuit!

EBI Énergie, Crevier Group, Énergir, and Electric Circuit unveiled today the first multi-energy station in Québec with the most complete fuel supply on the market. With an investment of more than $10 million, the station offers both traditional and alternative fuels to the thousands of motorists and truck drivers who use Highway 20 between Montréal and Québec City every day. This new generation of service stations is scalable and is part of the transition to lower-emission fuels.

“As a player in the field of cleaner energies, EBI Énergie takes a proactive role in reducing the carbon footprint of our society. This project is part of our vision to offer the passenger and goods transportation market solutions to limit its environmental impact and reduce its operating costs,” explains Olivier Sylvestre, director of development of natural gas transport at EBI Énergie. This station, in addition to being an initiative resulting from the commitment of three Québec companies, adds a service point for compressed natural gas (CNG), one of the main alternative fuels in North America.”

Speech of Olivier Sylvestre, director of development of natural gas transport at EBI Énergie.

“The Crevier Group is very pleased to collaborate with three Québec leaders in the energy sector to rethink the service station of the future and thus meet the evolving needs of our customers for lower-emission fuels,” says Jean-François Crevier, president of the Group. Service station networks must adapt and open up to new energies so as to develop an interesting multi-energy offer for customers, and this initiative is a step further in this direction!”

“Énergir is delighted with the opening of this multi-energy station, the result of an unprecedented collaboration with three energy companies in Québec. This station offers a diversified fuel solution to meet the needs of customers, including carriers who benefit from an additional supply point for compressed and liquefied natural gas on one of the busiest roads in Québec,” says Étienne Champagne, vice president of major projects and emerging markets development at Énergir.

“The electrification of transportation is a worldwide trend, and Québec is one of the leaders in this field in North America. This resolutely committed movement allows us to foresee a better future both in our environment and in our trade balance — and, at the Electric Circuit, we are doing our utmost to contribute,” emphasizes France Lampron, director of transportation electrification at Hydro-Québec and president of the Electric Circuit.

A complete, evolving fuel supply

Located in the municipality of Lévis, on a strategic road for carriers, the site offers an additional refueling point for heavy vehicles fueled by compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG), and diesel. All business client stations are automated and accessible 24 hours a day.

As for light vehicles, in addition to the four gas and diesel fueling islands, motorists can also recharge their electricity. This universal superstation of four fast-charging stations was funded by the Hydro-Québec Electric Circuit.

The Crevier Group took advantage of the construction work to install the underground pipe needed to transport hydrogen to existing pumps in the event that vehicles powered by this type of fuel enter the market.
